A Domainer’s Work Space

Domaining can be a really lonesome job, normally you have no colleagues and your business partners are dealt with online. Most people you interact with are never seen, the only visual contact you get is from avatars and homepages. Furthermore if your home is you office you are even more isolated, When wife and kids are off to work/school (in my case girlfriend) you ARE at work. You do not have to get outside you own home for an intire day! That is actually one of the major downsides to this business in my opinion. If I were making enough money domaining I would probably still want a job just for the social aspect of it. Let’s say part time preferably :)

Right now I live in Vienna - Austria (to try something new). Vienna is packed with Classic Cafés and it has been a long and proud tradition here that guests (especially the regulars) stay for several hours enjoying a cup of coffe a piece of pie and the daily paper. I have been exploiting this big time lately. Café Sperl has been my office the last couple of months and will probably be until January when I return to Copenhagen - Denmark. Here I can easily sit for 5 or 6 hours drinking a cup of coffee and get the job done in nice surroundings. Even though I do not interact much with the personnel or the other guests I do feel less lonesome. I might consider continuing this when I get back to Denmark if I can find a proper café or something similar.

Where do you spend your working hours?
